Privacy Policy

Mooney ("we", "our", or "the app") is a personal finance tracking application developed by Andriy Bobchuk. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Data Storage

All your financial data (transactions, accounts, goals, categories) is stored locally on your device. We do not have access to your financial data, and it is never uploaded to our servers.

If you use the export feature, the exported file is saved to your device and shared only through methods you explicitly choose (email, cloud storage, etc.).

2. Data We Collect

We collect minimal, anonymized data to improve the app experience:

• Analytics events: We use Firebase Analytics to understand how features are used (e.g., which screens are visited, which features are popular). These events do not contain any financial data, account balances, transaction amounts, or personally identifiable information.
• Crash reports: We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash logs and diagnostic information. This helps us identify and fix bugs. Crash reports may include device model, OS version, and stack traces but never include your financial data.
• Aggregated user properties: We track anonymized properties such as the number of accounts (as a count, not details), preferred currency, theme preference, and app language to understand our user base.

3. Data We Do NOT Collect

• Transaction amounts, descriptions, or categories
• Account names or balances
• Personal financial information of any kind
• Names, email addresses, or contact information
• Location data
• Photos or files from your device

4. Third-Party Services

The app uses the following third-party services:

• Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics (Google) — for anonymized usage analytics and crash reporting. See Firebase Privacy Policy.
• Frankfurter API (European Central Bank data) — for fetching live and historical currency exchange rates. Only currency codes are sent in API requests. No personal or financial data is transmitted. See Frankfurter API.

5. In-App Purchases

Mooney offers optional premium features via in-app subscriptions. All purchases are processed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We do not collect or store any payment information. Payment processing is handled entirely by Apple and Google.

6. Children's Privacy

Mooney is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

7. Data Deletion

Since all your data is stored locally on your device, you can delete it at any time by:

• Uninstalling the app (removes all data)
• Clearing app data in your device settings

Firebase Analytics data is automatically anonymized and cannot be linked back to you. Crashlytics data is retained for 90 days.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Use the app without creating an account
• Export your data at any time using the built-in export feature
• Delete all your data by uninstalling the app
• Contact us with any privacy concerns

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
